Mystik Vibes at Plantation House, Hyderabad

photo3Mystik Vibes started off with an enchanting composition set to Raaga Charukesi. The fast paced track was full of unique riffs and intense movement. Titled “Wild dance”, the song set a mood for the evening.

Set in ‘Plantation House’, a boutique with a signature range of clothing, this energetic concert was tuned to suit a small  audience crammed into the boutique.

Sounds of the Cajon, Tabla, Djembe, Darbuka along with the Bass Guitar drove the dynamics of the concert, which were supported by a truly mystic sounding flute and pianos.

The assortment of Ragas and rhythms performed by the band spoke about a variety of experiences and inspirations pouring in from everywhere. The structurally, tonally engineered compositions educated the audience on various concepts of Indian melody and Percussion.

The band performed an interesting experiment that took inputs from a random car number plate and converted the digits to corresponding ragas and talas defined in the Indian classical music theory. For example, the digits 2788 correspond to a certain tala and a raga going by the name ‘Mararanjani’. This impromptu improvisation certainly took the audience by surprise.

Muthukumar – Percussion.
